Fumes in garage after a spill from AST

PID values showed 94% reduction in the values of fumes below the slab while the carbon dioxide values showed continued bacterial activity during the process. As the soil beneath or ground water showed any contamination, the project was closed.

Objective:
About 200 gallons of heating oil was lost from an AST in the garage at a residence. The oil primarily flowed from the tank location to the gravel and soil under the garage slab. Strong petroleum odors were present nine months after the initial release and VaporRemed was used for elimination of fumes.

Release from Above Ground Storage Tank

A heating oil spill had migrated below the garage in a residential facility with high hydrocarbon values in the air as measured by photo Ionization Detector (PID). After one application of VaporRemed, 94% reduction in the values of fumes below the slab was recorded and the carbon dioxide values indicated a continuous bacterial activity during the process. As the soil beneath or ground water did not show any contamination, the project was closed.
